HAITUS

Shit be kray.

I’ll be taking a break from BrutalKidSays posts for a bit.

Be sure to check out great sites like metalsucks.net, metalinjection, heavy blog is heavy, and metal insider if you’re still needing your metal news fix.

In the meantime, I’ll be occassionally updating a personal blog here. Feel free to check it out.

Until a later date, keep it brutal.

epitaphrecords:

Epitaph Records is proud to announce the signing of Los Angeles based heavy melodic hardcore band The Ghost Inside. Formed in 2007, the band has built a following with two previous records, Fury And The Fallen Ones and Returners, as well as their riveting live performances touring with bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Parkway Drive and The Devil Wears Prada. The Ghost Inside’s powerful and affecting sound merges insightful and introspective lyrics with charging drums, lightning fast riffs and devastating breakdowns. The group is currently working on their yet untitled Epitaph debut with Jeremy Mckinnon (of A Day To Remember) producing. “Signing to Epitaph is a dream come true for me,” singer Jonathan Vigil says. “The label is home to some of my all time favorite bands. Epitaph continues to be successful while maintaining the integrity of an independent label. I really look forward to the future of The Ghost Inside and Epitaph. There’s honestly no other place I’d want to call home. “

Maybe I can finally get my prog chops up…

Howard Jones is “Gone Fishin’”

Howard Jones, after it was announced that he was leaving Killswitch Engage:

“Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I’ve had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me.

“Recently we’ve all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn’t get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn’t in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, MikeD, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep. Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can’t stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it’s going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors.

Gone fishin’

-Howard”
